Online Consulting

Thank you for your feedback over the last year, we have listened to your concerns and we are launching a new system which will allow you to contact the practice more easily.

We are going live with our new online consultation service, Patient Triage on Tuesday January 2nd  2024.

This is a great way for you to contact our practice for medical or admin requests. It is very simple to fill out so please do give it a go if you need to contact us. Although the character count is limited on the form, please try to give as much specific and concise information as possible. We really think it is easier for most people than waiting on hold to speak to a receptionist but would love to hear your feedback. If you do not have access to the internet or find it difficult to use a computer or smartphone you can call reception instead, and they will go through the form with you on the phone.

The submitted forms will only be read during office hours. The forms will not be read on the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) or on bank holidays.  They will not be read Monday-Friday between the hours of 18:00 – 08:00. Please contact 111 during out of hours or 999 if this is an emergency.

Routine Doctor Appointments

We offer a range of face to face and telephone appointments with our doctors.

For your convenience telephone appointments are offered to discuss any medical concern you may have that does not need an examination or face to face consultation.

Urgent Appointments

Please tell the receptionist your call is urgent when you call, you will not be able to choose the doctor of your choice nor the time of this appointment and no other matter should be discussed with the doctor during this consultation.

Routine Nurse Appointments

Nurses based in our practice treat patients for a wide range of common conditions. You can expect to see a nurse within two working days.  Nurses offer appointments for the following:

  • Diabetic Checks
  • Asthma advice/checks
  • Smear tests
  • Immunisations
  • Pill and HRT checks
  • Travel Clinics

Healthcare Assistants

Offer appointments for the following:

  • Blood Tests
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Urine testing
  • Height/weight
  • New patient checks

Tell us if you want someone to accompany you during an examination or a private room to discuss any matters.

Remember that the results of tests can only be given to the patient.

Home Visits

If possible please try to submit request before 10am if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Medical Centre.

In addition to your Registered GP Home Visits, we also offer a home visiting service which is run by Viaduct. Your usual GP may refer you to this service if your medical needs fit in the criteria. The Clinical and Acute Home Visiting Service is made up of a team of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics and Healthcare Assistants.

It serves to offer additional capacity to GP Practices carrying out home visits throughout the day.

Key benefits of this service:

  • Additional capacity in GP Practices
  • A wide range of Home Visiting Services

By being able to respond to urgent care needs, this service would hope to support people to manage in their own homes.
